He immediately stepped back from that kid and rapidly spoke,
“What do you want? “
The boy softened his eyes and replied in a clear, yet earnest voice, “Companionship”. The terrified youngster squinted at the kid. He found the child strange. Also, he had always been told to stay away from strangers. But this was just a little child. How could he harm him in any possible way? And at the moment, companionship was something which he needed too. So both the boys sat together on a pile of bricks. The weather had turned to show pity. The blasts of air now turned to be soft breezes. The thumping rain turned into drizzle. Still waiting for his friends to pick him up, he spoke,
“Why are you here? You’ll catch cold”, he finished his sentence with a loud sneeze.
The kid did not reply. Perhaps he was shy. Silence followed for a minute unless rain started to pour again. The agitated youngster looked towards the child to ask him to go home as he would fall ill in such weather but he found no one sitting beside him. Within a second he was on his feet; his heart thumping louder than the last time. He could feel his body burning; he wanted to throw up. Immediately he looked for his phone and wished that the signal had reached but he could not find his phone. He probably had never felt so terrified. He was trembling uncontrollably. He made out that the boy must have stolen his phone to make his night a nightmare.
“My phone was exactly what that lad had come for!” He muttered.

Finally, he decided to go back and wake his landlord up as he felt tragically
unsafe. He cursed that kid as he picked his bags up, and at the same time, he
hated his friends for being so late. Just when he was about to take his road to
home, he saw that kid and his little right hand, which carried his large sized
phone with the torch on and the other one which contained some stuff.
